What we collect
From schools using our platform, we collect: student records (admission data, attendance, grades), staff records, fee transactions, communication logs, and usage telemetry. From visitors to this website, we collect anonymous analytics and cookies as described below.
How we use it
- To deliver the contracted services to your school
- To improve product reliability, performance and security
- To communicate updates, security advisories and (with consent) marketing material
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your data — to anyone, ever
- We do not use student data to train AI models
- We do not share data across schools without explicit written consent
- We do not retain data beyond contractually required periods
Data location
Indian school data is stored in AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1) with hourly backups to AWS Hyderabad. International schools can opt for storage in their geography (Singapore for APAC, Dublin for EMEA, N. Virginia for Americas).
Your rights
Subject to your school's data governance, individuals have the right to: (a) access their personal data, (b) request correction, (c) request erasure, (d) port their data, (e) withdraw consent. Most rights are exercised through your school's admin; for direct enquiries, write to privacy@indika.school.
Children's data
Indika is designed for use by schools, where consent for student data processing is provided by the school in loco parentis. For students under 18, additional safeguards apply: minimised data collection, parental access rights, and stricter retention limits.
