How long does implementation take?

Most schools are live within 48 hours. For larger groups (10,000+ students) implementations typically run 2–3 weeks including data migration, customisation and training.

Do we need to install anything?

Indika is a cloud product — runs entirely in the browser. Mobile apps are available on iOS and Android. Optional desktop apps for offline work.

Can we migrate from our existing ERP?

Yes. We have built-in importers for Vidyalaya, Skoolbeep, MyClassboard, Fedena, Edumarshal and 12 other systems. For others, we accept Excel/CSV and migrate at no cost on annual plans.

What devices does it run on?

Any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox). Mobile apps for Android 7+ and iOS 14+. Indika Tab Pro tablets ship with everything pre-installed.

Pricing & billing

How is Indika priced?

Per student per month, with volume discounts. We offer Starter, Growth, Pro and Enterprise plans. See our pricing page for full details.

Is there a setup fee?

For schools under 5,000 students on annual plans, setup is free. For larger groups, we charge a one-time fee that covers data migration, customisation and onboarding.

Can we pay quarterly or monthly?

Yes — but annual billing offers 20% savings. You can switch billing cycles any time.

Do you offer discounts for non-profits or government schools?

Yes — registered non-profits and government-aided schools qualify for up to 40% off list pricing. Trust schools serving underserved communities may qualify for further support.

Security & privacy

Where is our data stored?

Indian school data is stored in AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1) with hourly backups to a secondary region. International schools can opt for regional storage in their geography.

Is Indika compliant with DPDP Act?

Yes. We are fully compliant with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, including consent management, data minimisation and right-to-erasure flows.

What about international compliance?

We are SOC 2 Type II audited, ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant. Enterprise customers can request our security pack.

Who can access student data?

Only roles you explicitly authorise. Indika staff cannot view your data without your explicit consent — and every access is logged. We use a permission-based, defense-in-depth model.

AI features

Will my data be used to train AI?

No. Indika AI runs on a private deployment of Claude. Anthropic does not train on your data, and Indika does not aggregate your data with other schools'.

Can we turn off AI features?

Yes. Each AI agent can be enabled/disabled per role, per class, or globally. Some schools turn off student-facing AI but keep teacher-facing tools active.

How accurate is AI grading?

For objective questions: 99%+ accurate. For subjective: matches human grader within 1 mark on 91% of attempts in our trials. Always reviewable by teachers.

Does Indika AI work in regional languages?

Yes — currently supported: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia and Urdu.

Integrations & hardware

What hardware does Indika support?

Smart TVs, IFPs (Promethean, BenQ, ViewSonic), projectors via Chromecast/Miracast, biometric devices (Mantra, Cogent, ZKTeco), GPS trackers, RFID readers and more — 80+ supported devices.

Which payment gateways do you support?

Razorpay (default), PayU, Cashfree, Stripe (international). All settle directly to your school's account — Indika never touches the money.

Do you integrate with Tally?

Yes — fee collections, vendor invoices, payroll and journals sync to Tally Prime / ERP 9 via our connector.

What about Google Workspace and Microsoft 365?

Single sign-on, calendar sync, classroom sync (for Workspace) and Teams meeting integration are all native.

Support & training

What support do you provide?

Email support on Starter, priority email on Growth, 24/7 phone & WhatsApp on Pro, dedicated CSM on Enterprise. Help docs and video courses for all plans.

Do you provide training?

Yes — admin training is included with every plan. Teacher training is included on Growth and above. We also offer paid in-person training days.

Is there a community?

Yes — the Indika School community has 4,800+ educators sharing tips, templates and support. Free for any school using Indika.

What if Indika goes down?

Our 99.99% uptime SLA means under 5 minutes of downtime per month. We publish a real-time status page and proactively notify customers of any issues.
